Thursday, Nov. 21, 2013, will mark the official release of 2013 Beaujolais Nouveau – a renowned red wine from France – in BC Liquor Stores throughout the province.
Beaujolais Nouveau will be available in limited quantities for a short time. The BC Liquor Distribution Branch has secured 800 cases of this year’s release. By international agreement, Beaujolais Nouveau is released worldwide on the third Thursday of November each year.
This is a very popular release each year, so to avoid disappointment, connoisseurs of this wine are encouraged to make their purchase as soon as possible.
Quick Facts:
Beaujolais Nouveau is a young, red wine made from Gamay grapes in the Beaujolais region of France. Beaujolais Nouveau is intended for immediate drinking and not for keeping. The wines show definite variation between vintages, and as such are eagerly anticipated as a first indicator of the quality of the year’s regional wine harvest.
Of the 800 cases of 2013 Beaujolais Nouveau that will be available in BC Liquor Stores, there are 500 cases of Georges Duboeuf Paper Label ($15.99) and 300 cases of Mommessin ($15.49).
