From the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC. The Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC is accepting submissions for our 2017 “Go Fish BC Photo Contest.”
We are looking for your best photos from your summer fishing adventures. It could be a big fish. It could be a beautiful vista on your favourite lake. It could be a special family moment. Whatever great fishing experience you captured this summer we’d love to see it!
$1500 in cash prizes will be awarded to the winners in each category: three $300 first prizes, three $150 second prizes, three $75 third prizes.
Photographs will be used by the Society to market and promote freshwater fishing in BC. By entering, you give the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC permission to use your photograph. Of course, photo credits will be given wherever possible.

- People Freshwater Fishing in BC – for photos of anglers in action
- BC Freshwater Fishing Destinations – for photos of beautiful BC fishing landscapes
- BC Fishing Moments – for photos of fish, insect hatches, fishing tackle or images that just don’t fit the first two categories.
Term:
The 2017 Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC “Go Fish BC Photo Contest” (the “Contest”) begins August 1, 2017 and ends October 31, 2017, 12:00 p.m. Winners will be notified by November 8, 2017. Winning photographs will also be announced on our website, gofishbc.com, and in our e-newsletter.
Who May Enter:
Contest is open only to individuals who have reached the age of majority at the time of entry. Employees or affiliates of the Freshwater Fisheries Society and their immediate family members (spouse, parent, child, sibling and their respective spouses, regardless of where they live) or persons living in the same households of such employees, whether or not related are not eligible.
How to Enter:
Photos must be submitted via email to: photocontest@gofishbc.com. Please include an appropriate caption, as well as your name, mailing address, phone number, and Instagram account handle, if you have one, with each entry. Contact us at photocontest@gofishbc.com if you are having problems emailing your photo or would like to arrange an alternate way to submit your photo.
The Categories for entries are: (1) People Freshwater Fishing in BC; (2) BC’s Freshwater Fishing Destinations; and (3) BC Fishing Moments (the “Categories”). You may submit three photos in each category. However, photographers will not be awarded more than one prize. Each entry must comply with the following requirements (the “Photograph Requirements”):
- Photographs must be in digital format. All digital files must be 10 megabytes or smaller, must be in JPEG or .jpg format, and must be at least 1,400 pixels wide (if a horizontal image) or 1,400 pixels tall (if a vertical image).
- Photographs must have been taken within two (2) years before the date of entry
- All winners will be required to submit a high resolution JPEG.
Releases:
If any person appearing in any photograph is under the age of majority in their province/territory of residence the signature of a parent or legal guardian is required on each release.
Upon request, each entrant must be prepared to provide (within seven (7) calendar days of receipt of request) a signed release from all persons who appear in the photograph submitted.
