The University of the Fraser Valley Cascades men’s and women’s basketball schedules have been released for 2013-14 school year.
The Cascades entering their 8th regular season in Canada West (CIS), will play 11 home games and 11 road games this year. The Cascades are members of the Pacific Division which include UBC, TWU, Victoria, TRU, UBC-O, Mt. Royal and UNBC.
The women, who finished 18-4 last year, will start defense of their 2012-13 Pacific Division regular season championship on Friday, November 1st when they host the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns, at the Envision Athletic Centre. In addition to Lethbridge, the Cascades will host Calgary, TWU, Brandon and Regina once each and Mt. Royal, UBC and UBC-O twice each for their 11 home dates. The regular season runs from November 1st to February 15, 2014. Coach Al Tuchscherer returns for his 12th season at the helm of the Cascades, Al has coached UFV in all 7 season previous Canada West regular seasons.
The men, 12-10 last regular season, begin defense of their second straight Canada West “Final Four” appearance by hosting the University of Lethbridge Pronghorns, on Friday , November 1st at 8pm.
The last time Lethbridge was in the Envision Athletic Centre they fell to UFV, at the buzzer, on a three-point shot to send the Cascades to the 2012 Canada West “Final Four” 69-68. The past three seasons Lethbridge has sported a 2-2 record at the EAC, including a pair of 9 point victories. In addition to Lethbridge, the Cascades will host Calgary, TWU, Brandon and Regina once each and Mt. Royal, UBC and UBC-O twice each for their 11 home dates.
The regular season runs from November 1st to February 15, 2014. Coach Adam Friesen returns for his 2nd season at the helm of the Cascades.
