Make It Safe Conference Scheduled For November 6 and 7

Submitted. One of BC’s most popular health and safety conferences – Make It Safe – will be taking place November 6 and 7 at the Burnaby Delta Hotel and Conference Centre.

The conference, which brings together health and safety professionals, service providers and representatives from manufacturing and industry from all over BC, is expected to attract a record number of exhibitors and delegates.

In the past the conference has been very popular with those in the BC health and safety profession and, according to organizers, after the 2012 conference it became clear most of those attending would like to have Make It Safe become an annual event.

Several top-notch speakers have been arranged for the conference including former Vancouver Canucks captain Trevor Linden, sports media personality Michael Landsberg and Olympic athlete Clara Hughes.

Linden, who has endorsed the BC Safety Charter, is this year’s keynote speaker and both Landsberg and Hughes will be addressing issues surrounding workplace mental health and their personal battles with depression.

One of the themes of this year’s conference is the issue of mental health in workplace. Speakers and facilitators will lead special breakout sessions on workplace safety, physical health, and overall workplace well-being.

In addition to the regular keynote speeches, breakout sessions and networking opportunities, delegates will have the opportunity for one-on-one sessions with safety advisors during the two-day event.

Exhibitors interested in reserving a booth at the conference and individuals and companies interested in attending the conference should get in touch with Roline Beukes, Program & Events Associate at FIOSA-MIOSA, or register online at www.registerhere.com.

This year’s conference is being organized by the FIOSA-MIOSA Safety Alliance of BC, a not-for-profit industry health and safety organization representing industry and manufacturers across BC.
