UPDATED: ACS Public Forum Nov 15

Update: Chilliwack mayor Sharon Gaetz will not be able to attend, nor will Rod Santiago of Abbotsford Community Services.

The University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) and the Abbotsford Christian Leaders Network (ACLN) will host a public forum November 15 on the Abbotsford Community Services (ACS) proposal for a supportive housing project in Downtown Abbotsford.

Speakers will include MLA Darryl Plecas, Chilliwack Mayor Sharon Gaetz as well as representatives from BC Housing, ACS, ACLN and the Abbotsford Downtown Business Association (ADBA).

The ADBA, which has opposed the ACS proposal, was promised by the City of Abbotsford their investments in the are were secure against any infringement or changes in zoning of the area by,, among other types of zoning, a supportive housing project.

Though they were not initially part of the panel for November 15, after pressurte was placed on ACS the ADBA was allowed to appear with limited amount of time to speak.
