Agropur, Canada’s largest dairy, announced this week, from its BC headquarters in Victoria, that it has bought Coast Mountain Dairy of Yarrow, BC. In a statement released by Agropur, the dairy giant says,
“Agropur Cooperative is pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement to purchase British Columbia’s Coast Mountain Dairy, an important ice cream producer in Chilliwack, as of August 1, 2013. Coast Mountain Dairy has been producing ice cream since 1997 and is the maker of SARA’S OLD FASHIONED premium ice cream, MOUNTAIN PRIDE premium line of ice creams and ARCTIC STAR, the economy line of ice cream and frozen desserts.
“’We are very pleased with this acquisition,” said Agropur CEO, Robert Coallier. Coast Mountain Dairy is very well known in Chilliwack. “The acquisition sees us add quality frozen products to our Island Farms selection, as well as continue to offer clients locally produced superior ice cream products and expand Agropur’s offering in this sector of activities in British-Columbia,” concluded Robert Coallier.”
