Submitted. On Thursday, September 5th at 6:56 pm, members of the Abbotsford Police Department’s Emergency Response Team arrested 25 year old Manraj Singh Gill. His arrest and the subsequent search of his residence were part of an effort coordinated by the Drug Enforcement Unit of the APD. APD officers seized heroin, methamphetamine, and cocaine from Gill’s residence. Firearms ammunition was also located in the home. In Gill’s vehicle police located a small amount of heroin and an improvised firearm or “zip gun” which was loaded with a 22 caliber bullet.
He has been charged with three counts of Possession for the Purposes of Trafficking and one count of breach to a Firearms and Weapons Prohibition Order. Gill is currently on probation for Firearms and Drug offences out of Abbotsford and on bail for Attempt Murder out of Strathmore, Alberta.
Manraj Gill is known to police in the Lower Mainland and in the province of Alberta. He is considered to be a gang associate and a public safety concern to the Abbotsford Police Department. The Drug Enforcement Unit arrest of Gill and the warrant execution at his home, with the assistance of ERT and the APD Crime Reduction Unit, is considered important work in a continued effort to keep the city safe.
