Submitted. Opening Night Theatre Society in Mission BC will be holding auditions on Thursday August 21 at 7pm, and Saturday August 23 at 5pm for their Fall production, “Pack of Lies” by Hugh Whitemore. Directed by Tony Loyer, Pack of Lies is based on a true story, and set in cold war London.
Barbara and Bob Jackson are a typical middle-class English couple, living in the suburbs with their teen-aged daughter Julie. They enjoy a quiet, safe and ordinary life. But that all begins to change when M.I.5 agent Stewart arrives, seeking to use their home to spy on the neighbors – one of whom Stewart suggests may be involved in selling classified information to the Soviets. Someone they know is not who they seem to be. But which neighbor is it? Who is it they cannot trust? As the intrigue builds, it becomes apparent the subjects of the investigation are the Jackson’s own best friends. Knowing that their friends could soon be arrested, Bob and Barbara grapple over how much to cooperate with Stewart, while at the same time struggling with feelings of betrayal and deceit.
Auditions will be held at the theatre, 33223 N. Railway Avenue, Mission BC (Across from West Coast Express Train Station).
The production runs October 17 – November 2, 2014.
