By Wendy Lees. Trinity Western University’s Board of Governors has appointed Bob Kuhn as University Chancellor for a five-year term, commencing January 1, 2014.
As Chancellor, Kuhn will serve as an advisor to the incoming President, and act as the ceremonial head of TWU. He will advocate for the university in the business community and in the public square. “We believe it is significant for TWU to have stability and continuity during a time of leadership transition,” said Board of Governors Chair Jeremy Funk. “We want the broader TWU community stakeholders to be confident in, and supportive of, the school’s leadership. Establishing Bob in the role of Chancellor for the next five years will help build that assurance.”
The announcement came at last week’s Christmas in the City Gala event. In addition to appointing Kuhn Chancellor, the Board also announced its unanimous vote to revise his current title from Interim President to Acting President. “While the formal Presidential Search process continues, Bob is not just providing a stop-gap measure,” Funk said. “He is extremely active in working with the University to move it forward into a new era.”
“The Board of Governors continues to be impressed Bob’s role in the Office of President at TWU,” said Funk. “As we look to the future, we recognize the need to build upon our history, but not be limited by it. Bob is the right person at the right time for the right job on the leadership team. He has the competence and experience to ensure our goals are aligned and that everybody connected to the TWU community is moving in the same direction.”
“I could not be more excited to serve as the TWU community—students, faculty, staff, and supporters—together steps boldly into the future,” said Kuhn. “I believe that I have been entrusted with a dream, an invigorating vision of a new era for Trinity Western University.”
