Early data published by the City of Abbotsford shows that, year-over-year the value of building permits issued by the City in July was much higher than in July 2012 and even surpassed the value of permits issued in July of 2013.
This is the second straight month good news about building permit values in Abbotsford.
Led by agricultural permits and multi-family dwellings, the increase is a bright spot in the long term steady decline the City has endured for the last six years.
Agricultural permits worth $1,249,733 were issued in July 2014 compared to $965 597 in July 2013 and $864,519 in July 2012.
Multi-family permits worth $4,926,100 were issued in July 2014 compared with a dismal $5,000 in July 2013 and $3,990,000 in 2012.
Institutional permit values were down dramatically from both July 2013 and July 2012 with institutional permits worth $490,673 issues compared with $2,350,095 in 2013 but up from the $427,385 issued in July of 2012.
Industrial permit values were up to $5,682,043 from $4,034,203 in July 2013 but down slightly from the $6,470,600 issued in July 2012.
Total permits issued in July 2013 were valued at $18,741,625 compared with $13,467,734 last year and $16,529,477 in July of 2012.
