UFV’s two-year Fashion Design diploma prepares you to make your mark in the fashion industry. Not only do you develop your artistic flair and technical skills under the supervision of industry pros, but you also build a professional fashion portfolio.
As you work with leading-edge industry equipment and computer-aided design technology in our spacious studios, you master pattern drafting, draping, sewing, and tailoring and learn to design, create, and market a full-fledged clothing line.
Industry practicum placements and study tours to New York or Paris provide you with additional opportunities to get real-life experience, explore the fashion world, and create a network of contacts.
At the end of the program, your clothing collection — complete with swim-wear, lingerie, evening-wear, outerwear, tailored jackets, and children’s wear — is featured in UFV’s annual fashion show, which draws the eye of industry leaders and media alike.
As a graduate of a university’s Fashion diploma program, you are well placed to land a job with any leading apparel or fashion brand or go on to create a fashion line of your own. Or you can pursue further university studies to complete a Bachelor of Fine Arts at UFV and combine fashion with graphic and digital design, theatre, creative writing, art history, visual arts, or media and communications for a variety of employment opportunities.
