Building a great place to live, work and play
Creating a sustainable, fiscally responsible community takes vision, commitment and financial planning. The City of Abbotsford is responsible for providing municipal services and programs to residents, making smart investments in shared priorities, and keeping property taxes at a reasonable level.
2014 Budget Discussion
The Community Charter requires all City spending be authorized by bylaw, adopted by Council. The Five-Year Financial Plan (or budget) bylaw provides a budgetary framework for the City to plan and manage its resources, revenues and expenditures in order to best serve the community.
This year, the 2014 Capital and Operating Budget were presented to Council on October 23,24, and November 4th in the Matsqui Centennial Auditorium, 32315 South Fraser Way. The consolidated five year financial plan for 2014 to 2018 (incorporating the Annual 2014 Capital and Operating Budgets) will be presented to Council on November 18th.
The October 23, 24 and Nov. 4 meetings can be viewed from the City’s website.
