Release. The City of Abbotsford has removed the plywood structure located at Jubilee Park in accordance with the December 20, 2013 BC Supreme Court Order. The materials from the structure are being stored at the Abbotsford Public Works Yard, 31739 King Road, until the owners are available to claim it. The Public Works Yard hours of operation are: 7:30am-4:30pm December 23, 7:30am-3:00pm December 24, closed December 25, 26, open December 27, 30, 31, 7:30am-4:30pm. Other materials left at Jubilee Park have been placed into secure storage until January 20, 2014. People wishing to make a claim for materials left at Jubilee Park can contact the City of Abbotsford 24-hours per-day at 604-504-4217 to arrange for access to the storage container. If calling to make a claim, persons are asked to state that they are calling to request access to the Parks Department storage container at Jubilee Park.
The City of Abbotsford would like to thank and acknowledge the efforts of the service providers in our community for their work on Saturday, December 21 in connecting people with services: Ministry of Social Development, Salvation Army, Fraser Health, Elizabeth Fry, Raven’s Moon, Joshua House, and BC Housing. In particular, the City would like to acknowledge the Ministry for their work connecting people with income assistance; the Salvation Army for offering to accommodate people’s pets and their assistance in moving people’s belongings; and Elizabeth Fry for offering accommodation for a person and their dog. Several individuals took advantage of services offered in the community and were relocated to alternate housing arrangements.
