Submitted. The Board received an update on the public consultation held as part of the review of the Integrated Arts Schools (‘ASIA’) to determine the program’s sustainability and future needs. This has included two public meetings, and a survey.
Secretary-Treasurer Ray Velestuk presented the priorities that have been identified through the consultation: at the North Poplar (elementary) site, high priority issues were parking, portables and the size of the facilities; for the Sumas Mountain site (middle and secondary), course options/availability and appropriateness of existingspaces emerged as top issues.
A variety of other issues were identified. Recommendations for the Integrated Arts schools and facilities will be brought to the Board at an upcoming meeting.
