UFV’s unique two-year Fashion Design diploma combines just the right balance between fashion design, production, textiles and leading–edge computer technology required for a career in the fashion industry. Students develop the artistic vision and technical knowledge to create garments for a wide range of markets such as swimwear, lingerie, eveningwear, outerwear, tailored jackets and children’s wear while exploring each stage of the fashion industry.
Studies include a variety of core courses in design, pattern drafting, construction, textiles, history of fashion and computer aided design. The program offers a diverse curriculum enabling students to select from three options; Textiles, Technology and Marketing. Most electives are taken in the senior year but some students may take the electives in an order that best suits their schedules. Part-time studies are also an available to students who are unable to attend full time.
