At 10:25 pm on June 04, 2014, Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service responded to the report of a structure fire at Alliance Trusses, 890 Riverside Road.
On arrival, fire crews reported that there was smoke coming from the roof area at the rear of the structure. Fortunately workers on site were able to keep the fire under control until AFRS crews arrived.
Within an hour, AFRS crews were able to completely extinguish the fire and damage was limited to a small area in the roof structure. Some production equipment was also damaged.
The fire was accidental in nature and AFRS fire investigators have determined that the cause was due to electrical issues. The total damage is estimated at about $ 75,000.
Eight AFRS fire trucks and approximately 24 firefighters were on scene. APD, BCAS, BC Hydro and Fortis Gas also responded. No injuries were reported.
