Jatinder Sidhu Wins Liberal Nod

Jatinder (Jati) Sidhu won the Liberal nomination for the new riding of Mission/Matsqui/Fraser Canyon. He defeated Rhett Nicholson by a factor of nearly 3 – 1 for the opportunity to carry the Liberal flag in the next federal election, expected during the fall of 2015.

Co-founder of the Fraser Valley Indo-Canadian Business Association, the businessman and community leader is well known in local political circles and has made several runs in local elections before throwing his name in the hat for the new federal riding.

Sidhu owns and operates a number of farms and building projects in the Fraser Valley.

He has been on the University of the Fraser Valley board of governors, the City of Character, the Asia Pacific Market Advisory Committee, the BC Multicultural Advisory Committee, the Abbotsford Police Board, the BC Multicultural Advisory Committee, the Fraser Valley Cole Co-op Association, the Abbotsford Agrifair Board, and the Abbotsford Chamber of Commerce.
