Have you ever witnessed someone make a woodcarving with a chain saw? That’s how 3-D Visual Arts Arty Award Nominee Jonas Melan creates life-sized (or bigger) woodcarvings of animals, which have been sold all over the world. He says that “when you carve an animal into the tree, the tree takes on a life that is unlike if you create an inanimate object like table or a clock.” Pretty cool!

We are proud to provide the Kariton Art Gallery and Boutique as a resource for local artists to showcase their art.
In addition to the Kariton Gallery, the Abbotsford Arts Council produces a number of successful events to showcase local artists such as the Envision Coffee House Concert Series & Concert in the Park Series, Arty Awards, Arts & Heritage Unity Festival, and the Abbotsford Christmas Craft Fair. We also offer a wonderful education speaker series called “Art of Marketing”.
