From Cliff Fast. “I have watched this unfortunate event unfold for some time now. I have also bit my tongue and not waded into these murky waters until now.
I had written a scathing comment on this article. However I have decided to wait a little longer. This whole issue reeks of “not in my backyard” mentality. I find it difficult to believe these people don’t care. That I would say is incorrect.
The issue is, (in my opinion) trying to allow the business community to dictate the outcome. A mistake made in many communities with failed assistance programs has been location.
Park your car, forget about the bus (they may not have the fare) and walk to all the facilities one might need and use. Now do that in the rain. When you find that spot … build.
In my mind, that is in the down town core.”
