Elizabeth’s Wildlife Center was established in 1986, and became a non-profit organization in 1999. Elizabeth Melnick, founder and primary caregiver of the Center, is a qualified registered nurse and wildlife rehabilitator. What first began as a rescue center from her home, expanded into Elizabeth’s backyard with construction of aviaries and small housing facilities.

I recall, one snowy day, my child came running into the house to
tell me about an injured bird. He pleaded to me to get it help.
I remember reading about Elizabeth’s wildlife centre.
I drove in the snow, got stuck trying to get up the hill near Eliz. Wildlife
Centre, but, made into the driveway and relived to be able to get
help for the suffering bird.
My child was so pleased to see the bird was being helped and the
trip in the snow made it all worthwhile.
I do not know what I would have done without the knowledge &
care of Elizabeth’s Wildlife Centre, a truly valuable asset in our
community.
Community is about all living things in our city and it is so sad to
see that the Wildlife Centre has to beg for funding.
