Submitted. Over 300 people helped Preet Rai, the NDP candidate for Abbotsford-Mission open up his Mission office last Sunday. Dignitaries from the NDP were drummed in by Eddie Gardner (First Nations elder in residence at UFV).
NDP Party President Moe Sihota and MLA Harry Lali NDP (Fraser-Nicola) spoke about the need for change. Other notables included MLAs Mike Bocking – Maple Ridge Mission and MLA Gwen O’Mahony (Chilliwack-Hope) as well as MLA candidates Sukhji Dhami from Abbotsford West and Lakhvinder Jhaj from Abbotsford South.
Other civic leaders included Mayor Ted Adlem, Mission Councilor Jenny Stevens and School Trustees Jim Taylor and Randy Cairns. In attendance were a number of Sikh business leaders and representatives from many of the local unions.
