From Elsiewhere in Abbotsford. ROD, on his evening break, outside, at the store’s back entrance, overlooking the railway tracks in Historic Downtown Abbotsford.
“…so how long have you worked at the Liquor Barn, Rod?”
“Ten years.”
“Are you the manager?”
“Assistant.”
“Did you work in other liquor establishments prior to this one?”
“Nope.”
“Do you drink?”
“Yes.”
“Lots?”
“In moderation.”
“So, Rod, imagine this parking lot is filled with people. And you are given the opportunity to give them some life advice. What would you say?”
“I’d say, ‘No matter who you are, no matter what you do, or where you are, life is just life, so make the best of it.'”
“Is that kind of like your guiding principle?”
“Yeah.”
“That’s great. Thanks so much, Rod.”
“No problem. You have yourself a good evening.”
NOTE: unseen in this photo is the sign to the left of the door: WARNING: YOU ARE UNDER SURVEILLANCE, as well as four stickers on the door announcing various security measures in place. None of these was noticed when approaching Rod. !!
Also, as is likely obvious, the photo was taken from below, in the parking lot.
