From CBC. The Columbia Bible College basketball teams were back in action quickly after the Christmas break as they were home host to the Kwantlen Eagles.
In women’s action, after a hard fought battle, the Cats were defeated by the Eagles 67-42. Forward, Janelle Threlfall, led the Bearcats with 17 points and 12 rebounds, while Deanna Esau chipped in with 6 points and 11 rebounds.
On the men’s side, the Cats won a thrilling game in overtime 108-107 over the Eagles. Bearcats guard, Kevin Ford, hit a clutch 3-point shot late in the 4th to send the game to overtime, and with only second remaining, fellow guard, Marcio Juk, capilized on an impressive drive to pull ahead by one.
With time remaing, that Bearcats made an impressive defensive stand to hang on to their one point lead and earn their 3rd win of the season. The Cats were led by Kevin Ford, who tallied an impressive 46 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists, & Marcio Juk, who chipped in with 24 points and a pair of rebounds and assists.
