Submitted. Trustees were given a hands-on look at work by students in Abbotsford Middle’s Science, Trades, Technology, Engineering and Math (STTEM) Program.
The innovative student work is guided by ‘Learning by Doing’ and the ‘Project Based Learning’ philosophies. The class, developed and led by teacher Mike Howe offers students an opportunity to design and build a unique product.
Students use a combination of their existing knowledge and new skills learned to develop their own finished product.
Three students brought examples of work to the meeting including: a publication, models of airplanes and structures, and a puzzle.
