It has been 16 great years since WestJet took their inaugural flight out of Abbotsford International Airport. Gregg Saretsky, President and CEO of WestJet came to Abbotsford on Thursday, May 23rd to speak with Abbotsford Airport Authority members and celebrate the anniversary.
WestJet began flight service out of Abbotsford International Airport back in 1997 with only eleven flights a week. Now, WestJet offers seven flights daily to multiple locations connecting mainly in Edmonton or Calgary.
“WestJet is great partner of the Abbotsford International Airport,” says Airport Authority Chair, Dave Holmberg. “We look forward to continuing our close working relationship with the WestJet team to capitalize on the anticipated growth the Fraser Valley will experience now and certainly through the future 25, 50 and 100 years.”
