The ADBA has suggested a new site on Gladys Avenue. The new site on Gladys Ave is not zoned C7, is closer to the core of the Business Improvement Area and still within BIA boundaries. So why can’t the solution be a C7 swap. Put the properties on Gladys Ave into C7 and take the ACS property out of C7. This exchange would increase the total amount of land with C7 zoning and the precedent would live up to the spirit of the City’s promise to the ADBA.
To the best of my knowledge, the money from BC housing that was attached to the low barrier housing project for Abbotsford has not been awarded to anyone else. BC Housing might come back to the table if they see such a gesture from the City and the ADBA. The original proposal still has an economic and logistic advantage of any new location proposals. Has anyone heard of a reason why swapping one C7 zone for an other could not work?

Also reasonable: dissolving the “BIA”. Downtown is boring as all get-out.

Good suggestion. Seems reasonable.
