These were awarded to the district for a number of natural gas conservation projects undertaken over the course of the last year. Upgrades included both boiler and domestic hot water tank replacements spread out over several schools. Facilities Director Tom Louie noted this is yet another example of the district’s commitment to promote energy conservation and sustainability in partnership with our province’s major utility providers: FortisBC and BCHydro.

In congratulating the district for its efficiency upgrades, Vladimir Kosta from Fortis BC told the Board that Abbotsford was one of the top two districts in the province for efficiency upgrade rebates.
