Residents Encouraged To Volunteer During Community Clean-up Week

Submitted. Community Clean-up Week (April 22-28) is a community litter clean-up initiative that occurs annually the last week of April. Abbotsford residents are encouraged to register to pick-up litter around their workplace, school and community parks, trails and streets.

City of Abbotsford is providing registrants garbage pickers, safety vests, gloves, and marked garbage bags. To register and pick up your Clean-up Abbotsford Week supplies please go to the Abbotsford Exhibition Park Office located 32470 Haida Drive.

Designated yellow garbage bags can be put out with regular garbage pick-up without an extra garbage sticker.

Numerous schools will be celebrating Earth Day and joining to help clean out beautiful city. Abbotsford Christian School, St. John Brebeuf and Yale Secondary School have on- going litter cleaning programs that helps clean nearby streets, parks and trails Abbotsford Heat will be cleaning around AESC and King Rd.

Auguston Traditional Elementary, Dashmesh Punjabi School and Terry Fox Elementary School will be cleaning around their school Centennial Elementary School will be celebrating Earth Day at Mill Lake Park Rotary Club of Abbotsford-Matsqui will be cleaning areas surrounding Mill Lake Park University of the Fraser Valley students will be cleaning around campus and nearby parks
