The Vancouver Sun is reporting that the Vancouver Canuckshave drafted Abbotsford’s Jake Virtanen.

The 6-1, 210-pound Virtanen scored 45 goals and 26 assists in 71 games with the Calgary Hitmen this past season.
The 17-year-old winger is the first B.C. player to be chosen by the Canucks in the first round since Cam Neely went third overall in 1987.
Virtanen told Vancouver Sun columnist Iain MacIntyre earlier this week that being chosen by the Canucks would be a “dream”.
