By November 12, 2013Arts/Culture

Submitted. The Abbotsford Arts Council is pleased to announce that Abbotsford artist Bev Beresh is the winner of its first Christmas Card Design Contest. The Abbotsford Arts Council announced a call in August for artwork from Fraser Valley artists to be displayed on the front of the organization’s 2013 Christmas cards, to be sent to 500 artists, arts enthusiasts, Arts Council affiliates and partners. The contest’s purpose is to promote the work and accomplishments of a local artist while sending holiday greetings from the staff and directors of the Abbotsford Arts Council.

The winning artist was announced and the card presented at the opening reception of the Abbotsford Arts Council’s Christmas Artisan Gift Fair at the Kariton Art Gallery on November 3, 2013. Having sponsored the printing of the card, Kinetica Print’s Account Manager Kris Hermkens presented the card featuring the winning piece, an oil painting on canvas entitled “Santa’s Gift,” to Bev Beresh at the reception. Opus Art Supplies also sponsored a $200 gift card to be presented to the contest’s winning artist.
