Release. In 2013, the Abbotsford Emergency Program received a generous donation of a trailer to use as a Mobile Reception Centre from Canadian Western Bank and the Rotary Club of Abbotsford. The trailer has now been outfitted with the appropriate shelving, lighting and tables and the Emergency Support Services (ESS) Team is now able to set up anywhere day or night to assist displaced residents during an emergency.
“We are extremely grateful to Canadian Western Bank and the Rotary Club of Abbotsford for the donation of
the trailer in 2013,” said Fire Chief, Don Beer. “The Mobile Reception Centre is a valuable community resource
that will provide support for residents who require assistance in emergency situations.”
The ESS team will also benefit from having all of their supplies in a central location that can be moved to
remote sites to perform prompt response activities. Services include the ability of providing necessities such as
food, clothing and lodging to residents who have lost their home, or are not able to return to their home for
safety reasons.
The Abbotsford Emergency Program would like to recognize all of the partners in this project and all of the
Emergency Program Volunteers who provide support to the program.
