From Abbotsford Senior Secondary. The girls rugby team beat a determined Heritage Park squad 37 to 12 in the AA Fraser Valley Championship. Up by 3 points at the half, the girls settled down and really played well as a team, and the score opened up as a result.
Tries were scored by Shelby, Tiffany, 2 by scrum half Amara, Nakisa, Gurpreet and Alexis Samplonius off a ruck and off she went down the field for a 40 metre unmolested romp that broke the hearts of the Mission girls. Noted for their excellent play and contributions to the team victory were Tiffany, Gurpreet, Amara and Marumi Namba at flank!
There was no question about the player of the match, awarded to prop Vienna Schroeder who transformed herself into a tackling, rucking and running beast. The girls will have earned one of the top spots for the upcoming BC’s.
