Submitted. At 5:13 am on April 2, Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service responded to a report of an apartment fire at 3044 Clearbrook Road.
Upon arrival, crews discovered light smoke coming from a second floor unit. Both residents of the suite were safely out of the unit by the time fire crews arrived. Fire crews quickly put out the fire and most of the damage was confined to one bedroom.
The suite suffered extensive smoke damage.
The residents were not insured and Emergency Social Services was called to assist the occupants.
The fire is under investigation, but at this time it is thought to be accidental in nature.
Damage to suite is estimated at approximately $50,000.00
Five AFRS units and 20 firefighters attended the fire.
