current initiatives.

The local organization which bills itself
as “a grassroots character movement aimed at sparking
pride and ownership in each of our community members”
currently has over 90 community ‘Champions’, and
Character Councils in place or in development at eight
district schools.
This year, the local group is planning the
first national conference, hosted in Abbotsford in October
2015.
The Board was thanked by Character Council
member Rick Lucy, Deputy Chief of Abbotsford Police
Department, for support right from the outset of the
Character initiative.
