According to documents received by Abbotsford Today, the City of Abbotsford is planning construction of a playground in Jubilee Park.

Work is reportedly set to begin in the third week of March. Reports indicate playground equipment will be erected Mar 22, and that the Rotary Club of Abbotsford-Sumas will help City workers on the project.

The playground is supposed to be ready by the end of March.

Jubilee Park was the site of a three-month long peaceful protest by the Abbotsford Chapter of the BC/Yukon Drug War Survivors who were evicted by court order Christmas Eve.

The park has been sitting mostly empty since the homeless men and women of the DWS were forcibly removed.
