November 11, 2014 – Beijing, China – The Honourable Ed Fast, Minister of International Trade, places a wreath in remembrance of fallen Canadians during a ceremony at the Embassy of Canada to China.

During the ceremony, Minister Fast recalled the ultimate sacrifice made by the more than 116,000 men and women who laid down their lives serving their country. He also paid tribute to Corporal Nathan Cirillo and Warrant Officer Patrice Vincent, the two Canadian soldiers recently killed in attacks.

This year is the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War—the “war to end all wars”—and the 75th anniversary of the start of the Second World War.

Minister Fast is in Beijing to represent Canada at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation leader’s meeting.
