Submitted. On November 8th at 12:54 am, Abbotsford Fire Rescue Crews responded to a call of a cooler unit on fire at Ritchie Smith Feeds, 33777 Enterprise Avenue. Staff onsite had put water on the fire in the area of concern.
When AFRS crews arrived, they found light smoke in the area of some of the equipment, as well as some smoldering grain product. AFRS worked with onsite staff to ensure it was contained to the area of origin and put out completely.
AFRS remained on site until the hoper was cleaned out and all issues or risks were mitigated.
A total of 9 AFRS units responded to the call.
