FVHS Volunteering Orientation Session Friday

By April 7, 2015Pets

The Fraser Valley Humane Society was first formed in the summer of 1999, when the Fraser Valley (BC, Canada) was put on flood alert.

With the cooperation of veterinary facilities and volunteers from the community, we were able to establish a telephone hot-line and database to register and coordinate foster homes for pets in need. This database was available to other areas as needed, and therefore a network of help was created.

The FVHS works to eliminate the endless suffering of strays and abandoned cats in our community. Our no kill centre provides a humane approach to animal welfare.

What We Do For the Community

We provide a temporary home and veterinary care for stray or abandoned cats.

All cats in our care are viral tested, spayed / neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed, de-flead and tattooed prior to adoption.

Our cats are well socialized at our centre prior to placement in a forever, caring home.

Among the Programs We Offer

• Pet Lost & Found Registry
• Cat Adoption Services
• Cat Food Bank
• Humane Education
• Volunteer Program
