At 13:04 on Sunday March 31, 2013 the Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service (AFRS) responded to a residential structure fire at 2357 Bevan Road.
AFRS fire crews arrived to find heavy smoke and flame coming from the structure. The owners of the home were not home at the time Fire Crews arrived, but arrived home shortly after. Fire crews were able to make an offensive attack on the fire, but the structure and contents received extensive fire, smoke and water damage. Fire crews were also able to stop the fire from spreading to neighboring houses. One home did receive some damage from radiant heat melting vinyl siding and soffits.
Five AFRS Engines, one Squad and 30 firefighters fought the fire. The fire is under investigation
