From CBC. It hasn’t been long since Coach Matt Guynup has come on to lead the men’s basketball program at Columbia as Head Coach, and already he has made significant progress in the area of recruitment and retention. Before taking the helm of the MBB program, Matt served as the team’s assistant coach for two years and is quite familiar with the territory.
With 5 hoopsters slotted to return, and 3 new recruits committed to join them, Coach Guynup is looking forward to the start of the 2013/14 season. The incoming MBB players include:
Khyn Sarmiento – Khyn is a true point guard that loves to push the ball and get into the open court. He is a skilled player with keen court vision, and his experience from high school, club, and a year on the provincial team will really benefit our team. His enthusiasm and positive attitude will also be a great addition to our team culture.
Addison King – Addison is a 6’4” shooter from Washington who will stretch defenses, and surprise a lot of guys with his deceptive quickness. He has a high basketball IQ, good court vision and will be a great addition to the team
Kyle Innes – Kyle is a 6’5” forward from Yale Secondary. Kyle runs the floor, finishes well, and has a great work ethic. He has great habits on the floor, and his competitive attitude and desire to grow as a player and person will be a welcome addition to, and example for our team.
