His square jaw and steely gaze have finally paid off in an arena where they matter – politics. Premier Christy Clark named her cabinet today and Abbotsford South MLA Darryl Plecas has been awarded the position parliamentary secretary for crime reduction in both the the ministries of justice that of the attorney general.
Mike de Jong, MLA for Abbotsford West keeps his job as finance minister. Simon Gibson, MLA for Abbotsford Mission got nothing. 🙁
De Jong has shown himself to be a skillful politician and one of the survivors of the original Gordon Campbell team. He was BC’s finance minister before the election writ was dropped.

Plecas, when he was but a lowly community college teacher, convinced Lower Mainland police and city councils it would be OK to circumvent the criminal code, the Charter of Rights, the Canadian Constitution, the Municipal Act and who knows what other laws by simply putting an electrical inspector in front of the cops when they entered private property illegally and without warrants.
