A local chapter of the Red Hat Society turned up for some good cheeky fun and laughs during Opening Nite Theatre’s sold out first weekend of their smash hit comedy “Nana’s Naughty Knickers” by Katherine DiSavino. (One of the show’s leading Actors, Pat Davis, is herself a Red Hat.) “It’s wonderful to see so many of our audience having such a great time and having a good belly laugh!” says Kathy Yewell, the show’s producer. “This show has been so successful, our only regret is not having a bigger theatre!”
The second weekend is sold out too, with tickets selling fast for the final weekend of May 10 to 12.
Nana’s Naughty Knickers is the story of a hip, widowed granny who runs an illegal lingerie business for seniors out of her Dillinger style New York Apartment, all the while facing disapproval from her law student granddaughter, geriatric prison from the cop next door and eviction from her cranky, cunning landlord.
“Nana’s Naughty Knickers” final weekend plays Friday May 10 and Saturday May 11 at 8 pm and Sunday May 12 – 2pm Matinee.
Tickets are $12.00 and can be purchased at Murdoch’s BookShoppe 33078 First Avenue Mission or at the Opening Nite Theatre door at 7:15 pm Friday and Saturday show nights or 1:15 pm before Sunday matinees.
