The St Francis Day Animal Charity Event is getting ready for another exciting day this year! (St. Francis is the patron saint of animals and the environment.)
Our second annual St. Francis Day Animal Charity Event will be held on Saturday September 28, 2013 at 2010 Guilford Drive, Abbotsford, BC (The Parish of St. Matthew, Anglican Church of Canada).
This will be a day celebrating the importance of animals in the lives of the citizens of Abbotsford and the surrounding Fraser Valley starting with a family oriented afternoon of activities and displays, followed by an early family friendly evening buffet with entertainment and silent auction. This is a fundraising effort for six different animal based charities. (Please refer to our attached brochure for event details.) Of course, as it is St. Francis Day, owners will be able to bring their animals to the church to be blessed by Father Allen and Brother David (a Franciscan Friar).

By promoting this event to increase attendance and donations (monetary or silent auction items).
These charities were chosen to represent and display the broad scope of impact that animals have in our lives. The SPCA and Fraser Valley Humane Society represent the adoption of companion animals as pets. SAINTS represents the senior animals in our communities. Elizabeth Melnick’s Wildlife Centre cares for the small backyard wildlife. Critter Care Wildlife Society represents the larger wildlife impacted upon by human activities . The B.C. Search Dog Association represent the working dog and the assistance they provide us.
No event of this magnitude can be successful without the support of our community. All funds generated from this event will be distributed amongst the participating non-profit organizations. Contributing businesses will be publicly acknowledged.
