On Thursday, February 28 at 10:00 am, an 86 year old female was struck by a Nissan Pathfinder SUV while walking in a marked crosswalk at the intersection of King Road and McKenzie Road. The 52 year old female driver of the Nissan was attempting a left turn when the vehicle collided with the pedestrian.
Although there was very minimal damage to the vehicle, and the 86 year old woman appeared conscious and alert upon her arrival in hospital, the incident ultimately proved tragic. The woman passed away in hospital on Saturday, March 2.
Abbotsford Police Patrol Division, Traffic Section and Collision Reconstructionists are continuing to investigate. Witnesses to the collision should contact the APD at 604-859-5225.
