Have your kids ever wanted to see and play with their favourite machines up close? Kids of all ages are invited to come out and meet a wide variety of machines at the Third Annual Touch-a-Truck event at the Abbotsford Entertainment & Sports Centre. This free family event will take place Sunday, July 21 from 11 am until 3pm with proceeds from the barbeque lunch going to benefit Matthew’s House and the Abbotsford Hospice Society.
Touch-a-Truck is a fun, hands-on, educational event for the whole family! Machine operators will be on hand to talk to children about the machines and to answer questions. Vehicles and interactive displays from Central Fraser Valley Transit, Abbotsford Forestry Equipment & Supplies, Recycling Abbotsford, Bobcat Country Equipment and Eagle West Crane & Trucking are just a few of the companies that will be on-site and available for photo opportunities.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to be hosting the Third Annual Touch-a-Truck event,” said Global Spectrum’s Jason Blumenfeld, General Manager of the Abbotsford Entertainment & Sports Centre. “This is an amazing opportunity to let children of all ages learn about the vehicles and even get a picture taken in the driver’s seat!”
“Touch-a-Truck gives the community a chance to come out and interact with machines they would otherwise only see from a distance,” said Mayor Bruce Banman. “With the event now in its third year it continues to attract local companies and organizations providing an informative and educational experience for our youngest citizens while supporting a great cause.”
Event partners for Touch-a-Truck include the Abbotsford News, Country 107, 98.3 Star FM, The City of Abbotsford and The University of the Fraser Valley.
The event will take place in front of the main doors of the Abbotsford Entertainment & Sports Centre. For details and a list of vehicles visit the Abbotsford Entertainment & Sports Centre website at www.abbotsfordcentre.ca or call (604) 743-5000.
