Just after midnight on June 16 a suspect smashed the glass in the front door of a restaurant in the 32700 block of George Ferguson Way to gain entry. Once inside, the suspect removed a 55 inch television and quickly exited via a rear door.
On June 17 at 11:30 pm a suspect broke a door to a chiropractor’s office in the 32900 block of Ventura Avenue. The suspect stole a computer tower and attempted to steal a television which was unable to remove from the wall bracket.
On June 18 at 04:15 am a suspect smashed the glass door to an optical store in the 2900 block of Gladwin Road. The suspect targeted the sunglasses cabinet and took 24 pair of designer sunglasses before fleeing.
All three of the break and enters were of the “smash and grab” variety and occurred well after closing. The three businesses are located in close proximity to each other. In addition, the suspect in each of the break and enters was likely in the stores for under three minutes.
Business owners and managers are encouraged to target harden their properties and to ensure their security cameras and alarm systems are fully functioning. The public is asked to continue phoning police when they observe suspicious behaviour in and around businesses after hours.
