UPDATE – 5-Yr-Old Dies From Injuries From Collison

Submitted. 05/29/14 – Update – The collision incident from May 27, 2014 has resulted in tragedy. The 5 year old girl, who was critically injured, passed away in hospital late yesterday afternoon.

The Abbotsford Police Department extends condolences to the family and friends of this young girl.

05/28/14 – 5-Yr-Old Girl Seriously Injured In Collision
On Tuesday, May 27 at 5:55 pm the Abbotsford Police Department was called to a collision in a laneway near the 31500 block of Blueridge Drive. At this location a 5 year old girl had been struck by a westbound Toyota Corolla. The 42 year old female driver of the Corolla and her passenger remained on scene.

Abbotsford Fire Rescue and BC Ambulance personnel provided medical treatment for the girl and an air ambulance was called to the scene for transport of very serious injuries. The 5 year old girl remains in critical condition in hospital as a result of this collision.

Abbotsford Police Department Patrol Division Officers and Collision Reconstructionists are continuing the investigation.

The APD offers our thoughts and prayers to the child and her family.
