Fraser Valley Regional District (FVRD) Director for Area ‘C’ Wendy Bales is holding a ‘Meet and Greet’ Monday April 29th at the Mission Library meeting room from 5 pm till 8 pm.
Bales, who is running as an independent in Abbotsford-Mission, says she made the decisions at the last minute. “Independents can put riding and B.C. residents first and watch out for their constituents’ best interest,” says Bales.
“Politicians need to work for their constituents first and work co-operatively across party lines for the best outcomes and better priorities for tax dollars.”
Bales has been atireless advocate for her constituents at the FVRD and a thorn in the side of the gravel industry which, with the help of former BC Liberal Randy Hawes and successive FVRD Chairs like BC Liberal John Les and Abbotsford Councillor Patrica Ross, has managed to virtually take control of the wilderness on Sumas Mountain as well as a number of other environmentally sensitive areas in the Fraser Valley.
Bales has alleged that she has witnessed irregularities with party membership lists in the run up to the BC election saying she has seen several names on each of two party membership lists.
No official investigation into Bales’ allegations is being pursued.
