White Sox Down Mariners

Another beautiful evening of baseball at Grant Park!
From AAHA. The White Sox and Mariners took the field on a chilly April evening. Blake Jonah and Braxtin Frier took the mound in the first and second respectively, holding the powerful Sox battery to one run and stranding 3 runners in the first. Then allowing four runs in the second. Leaving the score 5-1. The Sox returned fired with strong performance by Udipal, throwing for 2 inning and keeping the M’s eager hitters to 5 runs.

With score knotted at 5 both team called on their middle relievers to shut down their sides no hits and key defensive plays. Very strong pitching performances by the M’s Ricki Murchie and the Sox Liam Unger.

The Sox were not done and came out in the fourth with bats a blazin’, scoring 4 runs. Their defence would also hold it’s own and send the M’s back to the field without a run.

The top of the 5th saw the Sox add 2 more runs and then they send Sammy to the mound to thwart any chance of a come back, mowing down the M’s offence in 13 pitches.

Final score 11-5! Well done White Sox with key hits and very a impressive defensive effort!
