Yale Seismic Project Underway

Submitted. With approval from the Board, the Yale Secondary seismic project has been given the green light. Construction is set to start spring of 2015, and be completed in fall, 2016.

Seven portables have been moved on site, for the time
when classrooms will be out of use. The seismic upgrade
to Yale will cost approximately $9.7 million, with $6.5
million coming from the province and $3.2 million
contributed by the district. The school currently supports
just over 1,200 grade 9-12 students.

“We are pleased to be able to proceed with the seismic
improvement project at Yale Secondary”, said Board Chair
Cindy Schafer. “We look forward to the work commencing
this spring, providing an upgraded school and an
enhanced learning environment for students and staff.”
